Is Ron Paul your Homeboy? Hide your nuts.

If he is, you can find a campaign button on eBay that testifies to that. In fact those buttons are about all that pushed Ron Paul past Hillary in this week's eBay Presidential standings.

What are they selling?

aug8-aug14.jpgRon's supporters are busy selling campaign related material such as bumper stickers, yard signs, campaign buttons, and pens for the 2008 U.S. Presidential race. The items for other candidates are primarily focused on historical items such as signed books, and photos. Again I believe the difference in the items reflects the difference in the supporters passion for their candidates. In fact, many of the collectible items don't really show support for the candidate so much as an opportunity to grab a cool book or autograph while it's hot. They could be supporters or not. But if you are selling or buying 50 Ron Paul bumper stickers, chances are you feel Ron Paul is your Homeboy - as the expression goes.

Hillary Nutcracker

hcn1.jpgOne item that has me a little flummoxed is the super hot Hillary Nutcracker. My research puts this item in the "Hillary" column, however I'll wager they are not laying around in the break room at Clinton for President Headquarters. I don't really think it's in support of Hillary per se, but I can't really start judging individual items within the results now. There's no clear way to throw nutcracker support to any particular Republican candidate. So I'll leave the results as is for now with the reasoning that if Hillary wasn't running, nutcrackers in her likeness would be at a virtual standstill. So lets give her some credit. And hide your nuts.

I’ve just been looking, and it seems to me (purely on impression: I haven’t counted) that there are vastly more anti-Hillary items than anti- anyone else (that “life’s a bitch…” pin seems to be everywhere.). Possibly this is because I’m pro-Hillary myself and therefore quicker to spot anyone dissing my girl, or possibly it’s that her candidacy seems to have brought out the misogynist in a lot of sellers
