eBay's Fixed Price 30-Day listings are off and running. Now that Medved.net has refreshed, and some bulk listings tools have been updated - we're seeing results. The count is up over 1 million over last week. Time will tell if this will be the magic bullet for eBay's Q4.
There have been some initial bugs, but the real test will be whether the site gets flooded with absolute junk, or if the shoppers will be able to find what they've come for.

One thing is for sure - the once-important “Number of New Listings” metric that wall street uses to measure eBay is officially completely irrelevant. Yet not two days ago I read a bullish article that referred to the fact that “listings are up.”
After de-dupe, any rise in volume will be unique SKUs. This makes listing count an accurate measure of somewhat unique products available. I say somewhat because top eBay sellers are using multiple accounts with different titles for the same SKU which helps to generate false numbers. Small sellers are not allowed to do this, but top sellers get away with bloody murder. $$$ talks.
Inside your listing, give viewers a reason to call back later if they are in a hurry now or not quite ready to bid. Ask them to visit your ‘About Me’ page for a free eBook or newsletter and be sure they give their email addresses for you to contact them later. You can also begin a mailing list for later sales outside of eBay. Remind them, too, to add you to their Favourite Sellers list.
